Far be it for us to tell you how to spend your August Bank Holiday, but why not forego those traffic jams and come and relax with us!

Combine a walk in beautiful woodland surroundings with eco-themed activites to keep you  and your family entertained. There'll be delicious local food to eat, laid back music to listen to, eco shopping and arty people to watch.

ARCHERS ICE CREAM - will be bringing along there extensive range of Archers Exquisit Flavours on the Saturday and the Monday for all to try.

The Moody Baker - will be offering a range of locally sorced, healthy great tasting fayre. After the success of his pasties at our first Woodland Fest we can't wait to see what treats he's cooked up for us this year.

 BLACKSMITH - Mark Constable, will be demonstrating some of his decorative iron work at the festival.  He will be burning on TCV Charcoal of course.
CHAINSAW CARVER - Steve Iredale will be back again this year to carve a sculpture for Deepdale Wood and a raffle.  Two owls are already in residence in Gainford and Barnard Castle, Whoooo will be the winner this year?  During previous festivals Steve has carved a dragon, an owl and an elf  and these will be on display. CORACLE MAKER AND ROPE MAKING-Dave Purvis will be at Festival on Sunday and Monday to demonstrate traditional rope making and coracles. You can even have a go in a coracle if you dare!

PENDRAGON CRAFTS - Rachel Bates and Kim Seymour will have their garden sculptures of the Green Man on display and be selling their hand made Green Man jewellery.

HOLISTIC GARDENER - Liz Hunt / Green Touch is on hand to discuss holistic garden design with Feng Shui and Ashaya (www.thebrightpath.com). There will be some plants for sale as well. Picture to come

LEATHER WORK - Karen Beeny from The Leading Leather Company in Baldersdale will be demonstrating her leatherwork. There'll be an opportunity to make your own leather key ring.

POLE LATHE - Chris Helliwell will be turning some green wood from Deepdale on a traditional pole lathe.  The vessels he makes are beautiful goblets, vases and bowls; they even smell great! newpics209.j...

SLATE ART - Padraic Joyce hails from Ireland where he worked in slate for more than 20 years.  Now in buiness on his own he makes candle holders and mirrors through to clocks and fireplaces. He also offers a bespoke service for clients own ideas.

WILD FOOD - Colin Davison will be cooking up wild food to try. There will be American Cray Fish from Deepdale Beck (an invasive but tasty species), deer, rabbit and maybe other wild surprises! WoodlandFest...

WILLOW WORK - Ruth Thompson will be with us on Saturday to make a living willow screen and/or arch and willow stars.

Yurt.jpg YURTS & GREEN WOODWORK - Tessa Rhodes and friends will be bringing a 16 foot Yurt to use as a base to demonstrate broom making, cleft ash gates, bowl carving and other green crafts.

SPOON CARVING - David Knight will be with us to demonstrate his green woodworking skills in spoon carving.

STAINED GLASS - Dave Wardman will be attending to display and sell his traditionally made leaded glass panels. Also look out for his stained glass window catching the light in the woods.

BUG HUNT - Dean will be leading an exciting bug hunt for all you budding explorers on Saturday at 2pm.

FOREST SCHOOL - Forest school teachers will be leading outdoor play and adventure activities, tree climbing and den buliding and basic survival skills in the woods.

MASSAGE TENT - Jackie Groszmann from oceanheartshealing and greenhavenholistics will again be offering her amazing seat chair massages relaxing tense muscles and promoting WELL-BEING. Jackie is a full member of the British Complementery Medicine Association.

RED KITES - The Friends of the Red Kites(tbc) will be here on Monday with a stand informing you about  the Red Kites that live in our area.  picture to come
picture to come STORY TELLING - A wizard of a story teller  will be about on Monday to tell  his tales about Teesdale Faeries!

VEG BUS and VEG DOCTORS - The Veg Bus will be on show for the first time fully customised, kitted out and brimming with fresh local produce. There will also be the opportunity to meet The Veg Doctors and to ask them your gardening questions.
