From Plot to Pot (PLOTTERS) The VEG VAN is here |
![]() |
THANK YOU to everyone who has helped make the season of the Veg Van happen - we grew a lot, you bought a lot and hopefully we've all eaten a lot more local food this year from this effort!
From Plot to Pot is a 'Local Food' funded scheme aiming to make locally grown, wholesome food accessible to everyone in the community.

How the Veg Van works
The idea is that the Veg Van will arrive in your village at a set time every week (between 4.30 and 7.00pm) and stay there for 20 - 30 minutes. During that time you can bring us your surplus home grown fruit and veg and can decide either to donate it to the Veg Van or receive a nominal set price of 50% of our sale price. You can also come on board and buy some fresh local produce. Other products may also be available, such as, milk, eggs, homemade bread and jam, butter and similar staples.

Teesdale Community supplying the Veg Van We are looking for regular suppliers of local produce in addition to surplus home grown fruit and veg to sell on the van. If you preserve your produce and would like to put it on the Veg Van, please let us know. If you know of local producers of yummy food stuffs please pass us their contact details. One idea is to ask you to grow an extra row of the veg you are really good at growing with a view to supplying to the Veg Van next year!
