Community Vegetable Gardens

New community allotment sites in Barnard Castle are available for 2012. Register your interest now!

We are  looking to see if we can find any space in or around Middleton-in-Teesdale to help the community create their own Vegetable Garden or Orchard - so if you know of any space available, we'd love to hear about it!

All these Garden's need TLC, which means we'd love you to volunteer and help us out or to take up your own space.  There's a lot of work to ensure that the Bowes Museum Allotment site and the new space are up and running and planted for the new season  If you have any spare time, or know someone who does, please contact us at rotterscomposting@yahoo.co.uk or call us on 01833 69 00 22.

The Barningham Allotments - February 2010

At the beginning of this project, we learnt that the village of Barningham wanted to create their own Community Garden.  TCV and the From Plot to Pot project offered advice, lent tools and provided encouragement throughout their start up. Barningham now has its own set of allotments and has plans to create a community orchard, soft fruits area and herb area.  Well done Barningham!
