- Via the forum on this website

- Over the phone

- Visiting your plot

The Veg Doctors have also been busy devising monthly growing tasks and seasonal recipes to help the novice grower. See the forum for further details.

The Project - From Plot to Pot

We have secured Local Food Funding to help people in Teesdale produce their own supplies of fruit, veg and even eggs or at least get hold of a ready supply of fresh, wholesome local food at a reasonable price and eat more of it.

We believe that folk shouldn't have to pay massive premiums for locally produced, natural food, so From Plot to Pot will be about relationships within the local community and not making money as a business idea.

The first stages have involved employing two members of staff; a Community Liaison Officer and a Community Gardener. We have started to develop growing areas at the Conservation Centre for training and produce and are developing three more community growing sites in Teesdale at Barningham, Cotherstone and Bowes Museum. We have created the Veg Van and it will be launched as a service during the Spring of 2010.

The Veg Van will be visiting most Teesdale villages every week and we will publish a schedule at a later date. The Veg Doctors are now creating seasonal recipes to inspire you to use more local veg and what to do to use up all those beetroot or courgettes you've ended up with!
